James Bartlett
James is an FCA and is the principal of the firm. He specialises in taxation, management advice, IT system development and personal financial planning. He is also the firm’s staff partner. James having trained at Deloittes was promoted to work in their International division in the London office before moving into industry where he became Deputy Group Managing Director of a large printing company. He returned to accountancy in 1983 when he formed his own company Bartlett & Co, which progressed into BKT in 1996. James enjoys sailing and owns a boat which is currently in Cornwall. He lives in Cheltenham with his wife Anne and has two grown up children Catherine and Michael. |

Jenny Harrison Jenny is an FCCA and our Practice Manager. She grew up in Dursley and after finishing her ‘A’ levels at 18 began her training with Tomlinson Harris & Co in Dursley, where she qualified as an ACCA in 1996. Jenny has been with the firm since 1997and during that time she has gone on to become an FCCA in 2001 and in 2003 became eligible for a Practising Certificate; her specialities are company accounts, taxation and audits. Jenny’s hobbies are oil painting, cross-stitching, reading and she enjoys watching films. She is also a Governor of a local Primary School. She lives in Gloucester, is married to Rob, and has two sons. |

Peter Trott Peter Trott is an FCA and is a Consultant to the firm. He specialises in Audits, Limited Companies, Companies Act requirements, corporate clients, disclosures and tax work. Peter qualified in 1965, gaining 16th position. He worked for a Taunton based practice before joining Price Waterhouse in 1966 in the Bristol and London offices. In 1975 he became a partner in Kidsons, later Kidsons Impey, working in the Bristol and Gloucester offices, and in 1996 became one of the founding partners of BKT. Peter is a Trustee of a local Charitable Trust, lives in a village outside Gloucester with his wife Maureen and has two grown up children Frances and Andrew, he is also has two grandchildren. |

John Kershaw John is an FCA and one of the firm’s Consultants. Previously he was a partner in the firm until he retired in May 2001. Qualifying in 1964, John built two successful accountancy practices and ran a transport company in Australia before becoming a partner in Kidsons, later Kidsons Impey. In 1996 he became a founder of BKT with specialist areas in management expertise and business development. He is a Member of the Academy of Experts and a trained mediator. John is an avid cricket supporter, enjoys a good film featuring John Wayne and has built his own model railway in his attic at home, which he insists is for his grandsons. John lives just outside Gloucester with his wife Rosie. He has three grown up children Vicky, Isobel and Johnny; he has six grandchildren, five boys and one girl. |

Alison Butler
Alison is an FCA and trained at Hazlewoods in Gloucester where she qualified in 1994. Prior to this Alison gained an HND at Bristol. Alison has been with the firm since 1997 and works part time to enable her to fit in with her family commitments. Her time in the office is spent working on accounts, audits and tax affairs and she is particularly responsible for dealing with personal and partnership tax returns. She lives in Gloucester, is married to Bryan and has two children. |

Sonja Walding
Sonja is a FAAT and did her training part-time on day release and qualified in 1999. She has been with the firm since 1998 and deals with the preparation of accounts, VAT Returns and she is responsible for the bookkeeping for a number of clients. Sonja has a very busy life outside work and she is treasurer for Newent Hockey Club. She lives just outside Gloucester and has three grown up children. |

Julie Blewitt
Julie is the longest serving member of the firm at 19 years. In 1990, after having her family, Julie attended an Information Technology course and was given a temporary placement with the firm. She was then asked to take on a permanent position and is now mainly responsible for PAYE, for both clients and the firm, together with sales ledger control and other office administration. She also deals with clients’ enquiries. Much of Julie’s spare time is spent with her family but she also likes painting and decorating. Julie lives in Gloucester, is married to Steve and has three grown up children Kelly, Vicki and Paul and is also a grandmother. |

Sue Simmonds
Sue is the PA/Secretary to the partners and has been with the firm for 11 years. She is responsible for keeping diaries, making appointments and typing and audio typing of correspondence for the partners, together with other office duties and typing for the rest of the staff. Sue enjoys gardening, decorating and looking after her various birds and animals. She returned to Gloucester in 1997 after 25 years scattered around the world and now lives in a village just outside Gloucester with husband Barrie. Sue has two grown up sons James and Laurence and is also a grandmother. |

Lynn Richings
Lynn is the part-time filing and administration assistant and is our latest recruit having joined the firm in February 2005 after retiring from the Bank of England after 14 years. She is responsible for the firm’s daily filing, keeping the archive records up to date and logs in information received from clients for tax returns. Lynn enjoys travelling, gardening, watercolour painting and decorating. Lynn lives in Gloucester, has three grown up children Adrian, Christopher and Tracey and five grandchildren. |
